Zakynthos - The Bay Of The Turtles

The name Zakinthos comes from the son of the legendary Arcadian chieftain Dardan, and today he talks about the third largest island - part of the Ionian Islands - one of the most popular tourist destinations in Greece with an area of 410 square kilometers And a coastline of 123 kilometers.

One of the most interesting sights on Zakynthos island are the world-famous Caretta Caretta turtles. In one of the bays on the island, sea turtles lay their eggs. This place is the beach of Laganas. It is here that you can become part of the life of this endangered species and touch their heirs.

This beach area belongs to the resort town of Laganas, which is also known as the center of nightlife. Here the young people are given an endless party. What we are talking about are the famous blue caves or the so-called blue caves of Volimes -the so called small town near them. Their name derives from the pale reflection on the rocks of the color of the water. When you see them you will feel part of a fairy tale.
