It's time for me to relocate to Thailand
Since I visited Thailand first time 1993, I have always wanted to come back. Over the years I visited 9 more times and I really love Thailand. For me it's an easy going life there. Friendly people, warm climate, great food, good prices for a farang like me. For over 10 years I have wanted to live in Thailand and I now decided to live there over the winter.
I have been to many places around Thailand over the years, mainly close to the ocean. If I will move there permanently will be a later question, I will start with 6 months over the winter. Always thought to spend the summers in Sweden anyway. I don't know where to live if I shall stay permanently yet. The last two years I have spent a lot in Jomtien and got to know my way around. As every place it has its pros and cons. Before I decide where I shall live if I decide to stay permanently I will try different locations. This winter I will stay in Phuket. It was 20 years since I was in Phuket last time.
My reasons for choosing Phuket are mainly that I have a friend with family from Sweden living there, there are great locations for scuba diving and great golf courses. I'm not spending all days on the beach, so I will not live on the beach. I don't need that and it's more expensive. I'm aiming for Kathy or the western part of Phuket Town. That will be a central point of the southern part of Phuket.
I have looked at some condos in that area that looks very nice. I have not decided if I shall have 1 or 2 bedrooms yet. 2 would be great to have when getting visitors, but the price is almost the double. To not get scammed I will go to Kathu for 10 days to look at the condos before I decide.
I think I can spend som time here :)

But before I can take the final decision I have to rent my house in Sweden. I can't afford to just let it be empty for that long, so I just posted an ad to rent my house.
Some reasons why I want to live in Thailand are that I just don't feel like "home" in Sweden anymore. It always feels like I want to go away. Another reason is that since I only work with cryptocurrencies 2018 has been a struggling year since crypto space had such insane race in the end of 2017 and then "crashed" back to more reasonable levels. That scared away many interested and investors, so I have been struggling. It is simply more affordable to live in Thailand too.
Lets hope that someone will rent my house so I can start my new life!
Hope you will get new life soon... 😊
Thank you!
