HAWAII highlights - Some of the best things to enjoy on the BIG ISLAND OF HAWAII

Today, I wanted to share some highlights of the best things to enjoy on the Big Island and show you with a few photos.

On the Big Island of Hawaii, sunsets are magical....

Hawaii has some amazing treats to enjoy like their Hawaiian shaved ice which is so refreshing on a hot day. I like mine with ice cream on the bottom and a snow cap on top which means, condensed milk and sugar. You get your choice of fresh juices to pour over the shaved ice. Mango, passionfruit and coconut were my favorites. If looking for the best place, Ulilanis is the best place for shaved ice on the island in my opinion.

On the subject of yummy treats, mud pie is another specialty on the Big Island. Mud Pie at Big Island Grill is the BEST! The crust is made of a fresh oreo baked crust. Inside is Kona coffee ice- cream, covered in fudge, macadamia nuts and whipped cream. Is your mouth watering yet?

One of the most exciting things to do is view the active lava lake inside one of the worlds most active volcanos. There is a viewing point inside the Volcano National Park where you can watch the lake from a distance. It is truly amazing.
