Taking the skiff out from Kupreanof Island~ LeConte Glacier AK

The voyage is always full of surprises~ glaciers floating past, whales popping up to take a breath, seals scurrying off of passing icebergs, bears foraging on salmon on the banks. Peace is this trip and camping out along the islands facing this glacier is beyond an adventure!

We built fires, snuggled close to the dogs and listened to the glacier crack into the sea as the evening turned into night~ it thundered and moaned into the late summer evening until the freeze took hold again and night fell. Winter's approaching fast!
