State of Decay: Abandoned School Playground
This one is going to be short, as this location wasn't that big of a place. However, it is still quite eerie and beautiful so I wanted to show my followers this one.
Next to a friend's old house was their old preschool (also abandoned). We went by the house and saw this playground, lost in time and covered in foliage. I suggested that we go and take some pictures of it. Pretty spooky looking, right?

To think, just a few years ago there were young children having the time of their lives on this playground. There is a ball pit, still filled with colorful, plastic balls. It's almost as if someone had placed all the plants on the playground.
Anyways, I did what any true explorer would do and I went into it. I don't currently have the pictures of me climbing around the inside but I'll edit those in once I get them back.
These are some old VHS tapes that were left out by the group that moved out. Some of these were hits with younger children, even I can recall watching many of these when I was younger.
I always find it strange when I see things like this. What I mean by that is the abandonment of value. The playground, the preschool building, the VHS tapes, and whatever odd and end we found here. It all has some sort of value, how could anybody leave this behind?

I slid down the roller slide, which is still fully functional and fun except for the massive amounts of spiders and the water at the bottom.

Great pictures, I absolutely love abandoned stuff, and yes, the "abandonment of value" is what makes it so interesting in the first place. I'm always the most excited when I find objects that could still be used in abandoned buildings. It's like these wine bottles in the Titanic wreck that are still sealed.
Yeah. I always avoid breaking or taking anything from these places. I like preserving it. All we take is photographs and all we leave is our footprint.
Well, if I find something really rare I might take it as a souvenir, but I never take that's essential to the atmosphere of the place. So, generally I agree.
I see nothing wrong with it. As with everything else, we just have to act with discretion. I'm glad that this all interests you also.

Thanks! I really enjoy doing this kind of photography. Although it's sometimes risky law wise, I'm just taking pictures and showing "history."
