im dritten Teil meines kleinen Reiseberichts von Lanzarote möchte ich Euch etwas von César Manrique erzählen und zeigen.
Das erste Foto zeigt ein von Manrique geschaffenes Windspiel auf einem Kreisverkehr in Tahíche. In Tahíche befindet sich das auf einem 30 000 Quadratmeter großem Grundstück das Wohnhaus Manriques- die heutige Fundación César Manrique.

in the third part of my little travelogue of Lanzarote I would like to tell you something aboutCésar Manrique and show you.
The first photo shows a wind chime created by Manrique on a roundabout inTahíche. In Tahíche, on a 30,000-square-metre plot of land, there is the Manriques residential building - today' sFundación César Manrique.
Diese ersten Fotos vermitteln einen kleinen Eindruck vom Eingangsbereich und dem mitten im Lavagestein angelegten Poolbereich. Dabei ist der Farbkontrast schon wirklich überwältigend.
Die Wohnräume, die alle im unteren Bereich des Hauses liegen, sind in Lavablasen (Hohlräume in einem unterirdischen Lavafluss) eingerichtet.
These first photos give an impression of the entrance area and the pool area in the middle of the lava stone. The colour contrast is really overwhelming.
The living rooms, all of which are located in the lower part of the house, are furnished in lava bubbles (cavities in an underground lava flow).
Sehr schön ist auch die kleine Gartenanlage mit den, von Manrique geschaffenen, Wandmosaiken....
The small garden with the mosaics created by Manrique is also very beautiful.....
Weiter geht es mit den Jameos del Agua, im Lavafeld des Vulkans Monte Corona gelegen.
Jameo stammt aus dem Wortschatz der Guanchen und bedeutet so viel wie Hohlraum oder Vertiefung im Erdboden.

Weiter geht es zum Jardín de Cactus am nördlichen Ortsrand von Guatiza.
Der Kaktusgarten war Manriques letztes großes Werk. Der Kaktusgarten, an dessen nördlichem Rand sich eine Gofio-Mühle befindet, wurde 1990 eröffnet.

The cactus garden was Manrique's last great work. The cactus garden, on the northern edge of which aGofio-Mühle is located, was opened in 1990.
Hauptmerkmal seiner architektonischen Kunst ist die Integration von Felsen, Stein und erstarrten Lavaströmen in einen harmonischen Wohn- und Lebensraum. Er nutzte die unbearbeiteten Naturmaterialien häufig im Kontrast mit runden, weichen, von Hand gestalteten Formen. Oft sind die Farben Schwarz und Grau (Lavagestein) und Weiß (Kalk und Lack) zu finden.
Viele zusätzliche Informationen zum Küstler Marique und seinen Werken erhaltet Ihr, wenn Ihr die grünen Textstellen anklickt. Ich wollte dies nicht alles einfach übernehmen :-)
Ganz zum Schluß aber heute noch einmal das erste Bild für Euch. Es zeigt ja, wie ich bereits schrieb, ein Windspiel von Marique welches in Tahíche in einem Kreisverkehr aufgestellt wurde. Dieser befindet sich unweit des Eingangs zu seinem Wohnhaus und ist der Ort, an dem Marique am 25. September 1992 durch einen selbstverschuldeten Verkehrsunfall ums Leben kam.
The main feature of his architectural art is the integration of rocks, stone and solidified lava flows into a harmonious living space. He often used the untreated natural materials in contrast to round, soft, hand-made shapes. Often the colours black and grey (lava stone) and white (lime and lacquer) can be found.

At the very end, however, today once again the first picture for you. It shows, as I already wrote, a wind chime by Marique which was set up in a roundabout in Tahíche. It is located not far from the entrance to his home and is the place where Marique died on 25 September 1992 in a traffic accident caused by his own fault.
La Graciosa
Ich hoffe, es hat Euch etwas Spaß gemacht, den 3. Teil über Lanzarote zu lesen. Der nächste Teil wird sich mit dem Inselchen La Graciosa beschäftigen, welches ganz nah an Lanzarote liegt, die kleinste der bewohnten Kanarischen Inseln ist und von Teguise mit verwaltet wird.
