Stone Church in Karuizawa was designed by a world-renowned American Architect, Kendrick Kellogg who is popular in integrating nature elements in his designs. The artistic stone church blends flawlessly into the surrounding woods. Kellogg incorporated of five natural elements including “stone, sunlight, water, green and wood” in the design of this church. The church is made up of stones and glasses, representing man and women respectively , supporting each other.
This church is a popular venue for wedding ceremonies, performed both in Japanese and English. So I recommend to check beforehand as the church closes for visitors while conducting wedding ceremonies
前兩天跟大家分享了一間在輕井澤很受歡迎的餐廳—「村民食堂」，今天想跟大家分享餐廳附近的旅遊景點—「石之教堂」。設計師是以“自然建築”著名的美國建築師Kendrick Kellogg。
不同於一般日式建築或是歐洲教堂，「石之教堂」是一座融入“石、光、水、樹木、綠色”五大自然原素在建築當中。
沿著用石頭堆砌成的道路，我們看到了這座壯觀，獨一無二的教堂，因石之教堂內是不能拍照的，所以我在網上找了兩張內部照片給大家看。這裏是個舉行結婚儀式的著名的地方，總是有新人在這裏舉行儀式，所以想來參觀的朋友，事前一定要確認是否有婚禮舉行而限制參觀，不然就白跑一趟了。
