During the Nazi occupation, the palace served to gather our Jewish fellow citizens before sending them to the Terezín Ghetto.
After the war there were various offices. In 1974 the palace burned. The fire did not stop for six days. The repair lasted for almost twenty years.
Now the National Gallery is located here, specifically the collections of modern art.
