PLTD APUNG - BANDA ACEH - INDONESIA

PLTD apung is a ship which weighs about 2,600 tons with a length of 63 meters, PLTD Apung located in Punge Blang Cut area, Banda Aceh, Indonesia.

When the tsunami occurred on December 26, 2004, the ship was dragged by a tidal wave as high as 9 meters so it shifted to Banda Aceh City as far as 5 kilometers. This ship was carried water to the center of the residential community, not far from the Tsunami Museum.

Currently, the area around the PLTD Apung has been purchased by the government to be reorganized into educational tourism rides. To commemorate the casualties that fell due to the tsunami, built a memorial monument. On the monument, the date and time of the incident from the disaster that also happened to some countries other than Indonesia.

From this boat, visitors can also see the Bukit Barisan mountain range.

And PLTD apung is now a tourist attraction in banda aceh and become a tourist attraction.
