I travel the world #197: Parship HQ Hamburg
I ran into my friend in Hamburg and visited his office
What a coincidence, I ran into my friend while walking down the street. What a surprise and as we haven't seen each other for 2 years I invited him for a coffee. After that he asked me if I wanted to visit his office which was nearby, so we went to the Parship HQ.
If you never heard of Parship, it is Germany's biggest Online Dating agency based in Hamburg. They acquired Elite Partners a while ago and the Major Stakeholder is the German Television Company Pro7Sat1. It is said that Parship is spending over 100.000.000 Euros for TV advertisements per year, so this is a big business.

Super interesting company which is totally data driven
It is interesting that the algorithm they have developed with an university is so good that people are willing to pay 30-60 Euro each month for a online subscription. While I won't go and buy one, I can see the benefits for people finding their right match online without the hassle of going on dates first. So you first find someone than you go on a date and the chances are that you like each other are high, because of the behavioristic and psychoanalytical matching.

Interesting didn't know that thaey have such a crazy marketing budget.
that's a figure I heard 3years ago and now they have swalloed elitepartners which was spending another 50-70 per year. so that figure might be even higher now.

I used to be able to make a living off steemit but atm I have to power down so be able to pay for my basic needs. if the price of steem goes up again I might be able to pay my everyday life with steem again. that would be great!
