Intrepid Journey Day 1: Qatar Biz

Ciao!

So here I am sitting my Qatar Biz seat after watching motorsports in the biz lounge which is the perfect start to a motorsport themed trip.

OMG my seat vibrates!!!! Hubby just pressed one of the 20 buttons to control the seat.

Like a total biz class newbie ive been taking photos as i explored all the bits and pieces. From priority boarding with no que it just got better. The stewardess offered us a drink, hot towels, bought fancy menus and pajamas and slippers in a wee bag. We have a beautiful toilet bags and our own light on a flexible stem.

"I don't think ive ever had 3 windows to myself" says hubby..... yep our wee space takes up 3 windows. (OMG this vibrating chair is bliss! my bum will thank me!!)

The percer popped by to tell us their goal is to make us feel at home and to ask any questions.

Im a total convert and the plane hasn't taken off!!

So what is ahead of us?

Doha few days to break the 17 hour trip up. Though wonder if needed when flying biz!

Florence to stay with good friends for a week. Enjoy Italian sun, pool, local food.

Then drive our mates 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 105 to Le Mans Classic Grande Prix for the purpose of the trip. 3 days of drooling over classic cars.

Said Mate will fly to Le Mans and drive the Alfa back to Italy. But slight plan change an hour before we left home to the taxi. Mate's mum died (peacefully in her sleep) and whilst we fly west he is flying east to NZ.

So with sad irony we are staying at his house and using his car in Italy and he ours in NZ.

Hopefully he makes it back for Le Mans 3 July.

From Le Mans we head to Barcelona.... do all the touristy things there.

The trip ends in Stafford, UK for a much anticipated visit with cousins mum tracked down on Ancestory.com on her fathers side. We didnt know they existed!!! Now firm facebook friends and....they are into CARS!!! Dam proud to to say these guys are my cousins!!

OMG this vibrating chair is bliss..... my buns are going to look like i do 1000 squats a day after 17 hours!!!

Mother inlaw is in residence and the 3 cats are looking at her loveingly from the moment she walked in. Jasper sat on her lap and was lulled into a trance with pats and a soothing voice "Aren't you a good boy". " Never sat on my lap in 2 years of his life" i grumbled...... but pleased the four of them are going to have a great time together.

Better go.... at end of runway and wifi still on!! (you can do that in biz!)
