Hacks about living in Korea.
Being born to a mother, who was born and raised India, I was inherently trained to be more economical. I have been studying in Korea for almost three years now. As matter of fact , most foreigners who come to korea tend to lead economical yet fulfilling one. I hope some of this hack helps you.
I would start by suggesting you to join few organisations.
Here are some organisations I would strongly recommend.
ISF — International student fellowship.
For me ISF had been very helpful and enlightening whilst understanding Korean culture. They are student fellowship association that helps foreign students in Korea. They initiate lots of programs which include, Korean classes, medical checkups, pairing mentors and etc. for FREE.
They also come with programs like ASIAN LEADERSHIP, HI FIVE KOREA, YOUNG DIPLOMACY and etc. Which are somehow competitive but of real worth. Most of these programs are held outside of Seoul, so it opens opportunity to visit some new places within Korea. The conference are held in professional style- FIVE-star hotels with free lodging and buffet system meal. Again everything for free, and you’ll also be provided with a certificate and small amount of cash for participation.
ISF also provides scholarships, so visit their website constantly.

Funday.
Funday is again another association that helps foreigners in Korea. They provide lots of free trips, free k-pop concert, culture and etc. Once again everything is free. Wanna visit Dokdo island, wanna enjoy cruising in Hangang , wanna wear hanbok? then Funday is your ticket. One of the best organisation so far. You can visit their site below.

Wow Korea
Personally I haven’t taken part in this program before but I heard from friends it is a very intriguing program to be part of. They take you to some remote but important historical places in Korea. The trip is almost like FUNDAY but initiated by Korean government. I don’t really know much about it, but heard it’s one of the best. I will leave the link below

(There are a lot more than this, but I feel this were more consistent. You go to one trip, make a friend and try to seek help from each other. :)
Now the fun facts, THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW!!!
Hiking
If you came to Korea then, you should go for hike!!!. WHY ? Korea has the best hiking spot and the great view can be achieved only by climbing to the peak. Majority of hikers in korea are mostly the (Ajumma and Ajuhsis)that is how they call the old men and women. This could be an opportunity for you to learn the language from the old natives.
Suggestion: Always Hike on Sunday, why?
Temples on mountain provide food. Make sure you reach the middle of the mountain by afternoon! They will provide you with good lunch and most important foods are free. Actually, it’s great to eat food in a group and share your experience. SO DON’t miss it.
Church
Korean church is the best. They often come up with lots of programs. Be it Christian or not, try to use it to your advantage. One thing I feel everyone should know, Korean students or Koreans in general are very busy so they can’t talk to you, most of them won’t even give a shit. So need a friend? Go to church. Want a free tour? Try seeking programs in the church. Want to improve Korean? The best chance is the church. Utilize it!!
Ramadan
Now, everyone wants to look good, isn’t it?! Everyone wants to save money, isn’t it?? So, Ramadan in Korea is the best time to save and come to shape. Go on fasting like most Muslims do, join them. And in evening go to a mosque for food. Chicken with curd! Damn it’s so good. My personal favorite was one near Hoegi. Check yours!
Five Quick things
Buy SKT phone or sim cards. SKT phone/ sim card catches free -wifi better than others.
Buy electronics from Yongsan/ Iteawon. ( Examine well )
Buy winter clothes 2 month after winter, and summer clothes 2 month before. And always buy fruits from G-market.
Use naver dictionary.
Buy souvenir from Daiso.
