The Trinity-Peter cathedral. St. Petersburg.
The Trinity-Peter's Cathedral (St. Peter's Church of the Holy Trinity) - was the first church in St. Petersburg, which gave the name of its first square, the former center of city life (the Trinity Church was surrounded by the main state and commercial institutions). The Trinity-Peter's Cathedral was founded in 1709 by Peter the Great. After the closure of the first Peter and Paul Church in 1714, the Trinity Church became the main cathedral of the capital, where in the presence of the tsar and his family, all solemn state services were held, including services in honor of such events as the Poltava victory and the Nishtadt peace.

Postcard of the pre-revolutionary Petrovsky Trinity Cathedral.
The cathedral was rebuilt several times because of fires. Finally destroyed by the Soviet power in 1933.
In 2002-2003 in memory of the destroyed Trinity-Peter's cathedral the chapel of the Trinity-Lifestarted was erected.
In the chapel, church services are regularly performed.

Well it was great knowing these facts about the church.....thanks for sharing it and keep posting such knowledgeable posts .....and also great pictures also...@katherinalive
Thank you for evaluating my work. I really like this chapel on the embankment of the Neva River, where I often go. Nearby many attractions, and the main one is the first building of St. Petersburg - Peter and Paul Fortress, built in 1703.
You are welcome ....and keep uploading such knowledgeable posts more....@katherinalive........
Such a beautiful church and so sad it was intentionally destroyed. Wars are such cruel things to not only local populations but to their faith and lovely architecture. It's nice to know the dedicated chapel is still used.
Yes, it's a pity that the original church was destroyed. The period of Russian history from 1917 to 1987 was a difficult period for the Orthodox faith. Many religious buildings were affected then. I am glad that people have regained their faith.
History speaks greatness. Awesome awareness created by your history
It is a pity that the original church was not preserved. But I think in the near future the church will be rebuilt anew, there is enough space for construction.
Amazing photos!
Thank you for the flattering review of my story. The main thing is that the readers are satisfied with the information.
I have been to St. Petersburg before and the information you gave dove tails with what I saw there in the early 90's while I was on a group tour. Thanks.
