Travel Journal #1: 3-Day Trip in Macau [First Day]
Hi Steemians! I have finally decided to start a blog about my travels. I always wanted to start this kind of blog but was not able to due to my laziness. Anyway, my first travel post will be about my vacation in Macau. Hope you all like it!
First Day in Macau
We arrived at Macau International Airport around 10 in the morning. There were only few queues at the passport control and immigration which consisted of mostly Chinese Tourists. Also, the immigration officers did not stamp our passport which left me quite puzzled.
We took the free shuttle bus provided by Galaxy Macau since we stayed at Galaxy Hotel for our entire trip.

Our accommodation was actually part of the flight package we bought from AirAsiaGo. If I remembered correctly, the package for return flight + 2 nights stay for 2 pax cost around THB27,000 (approx. USD792).
Since we arrived earlier than the check-in time, we stored our luggage at the hotel's baggage storage for free and had our lunch at the food court.
The baggage storage was behind the large stones
Ordered Hainanese Chicken and Char Siu for lunch. It tasted okay but was quite pricey.
Since we still have few more hours to spend before checking in, we decided to take the free shuttle bus headed to The Venetian Macau.

The Venetian was pretty impressive but it was overcrowded by tourists.

Tried our first Macau Famous Egg Tart from Lord Stow's Bakery. It was tasty but it seemed like it was sitting inside the pastry display case for hours.
This was a very disturbing scene. One of the men in the photo tried to poke the human statue's bottom with his finger out of curiosity. The human statue was so furious, he stood up and struck the man with his cane.
After few hours of strolling, we decided to go back to Galaxy Macau.
Check-in was quite smooth although there were long queues. The check-in staff were really nice and hospitable.
We stayed in a Galaxy Twin Room with City View. The room size is 35m², which is quite a standard size but I felt like this room was very spacious as compared to other hotel rooms I have stayed in.
In the evening, we decided to visit Senado Square which is the city center. The square is surrounded by Portuguese architectural buildings and cobblestone streets that gives off an old-European feel. Also, there was an open concert where bands sung in Portuguese - they sounded awesome.

We wandered around the area for few more hours before deciding to go back to the hotel.
This is the end of my first day in Macau post. I will be posting my second day Macau post soon. Stay tuned!
I wanna go back to Macau!
