A Journey to Inner Peace: Our Visit to Isha Yoga Center

in #travel3 days ago (edited)

Hi friends,
Yesterday was the day that was hard to forget. Because yesterday, my husband, my son, and I went to the most famous meditation center in India, the Isa Yoga Center. The Isha yoga Center also called Isha Foundation, is a holy place of transformation and spiritual learning. Apart from the physical, mental, and intellectual well-being that a person is looking for Isha's appeal has to do with the fact that it is the one and only place on earth where one can get the life-principle transmitted from the planet to the living beings.

How vast the area of the center is! It is hardly believable that stretching over 1000 acres of land, you will hardly be able to see the very end. But we still did. We were now sure this was the place we wanted to go to. This is the place where we found ourselves at the point we were to go or not go. Then we did not need to worry about the problem of the car park, it was not up to us to get a space among the others parked there we went straight to that famous 112ft Adiyogi statue. Its tranquility had a magnificent look to it that it just radiated with beauty and passion.

In the distance, a broad path was getting busier as a constant stream of vehicles were passing by, a bit of that was visible from our angle. There were electric vehicles as well. After using it I was very grateful I didn't have to walk in that terrible heat. It was very cheap for a ride on it, just ten rupees!

We were simply amazed when we saw the Adiyogi, it was a milestone in the process of creating the statue. A lot of the devoted people who came were busy praying and taking photos. Following their lead, we participated in the photo shoot and many said I was a great photographer. Haha!

Immersing Ourselves in Spirituality

After admiring the Adiyogi statue, we made our way to the blessing area where a small Lingam awaited us. We participated in offering water using a jug called Kalasam—a beautiful ritual that connected us with ancient traditions.

Ater that we went to see Linga Bhairavi and the Dhyanalinga!

From here, bullock cart vehicles have been provided to travel to Dhyanalingam. By bullock cart, for which a fee of ten rupees is charged. Riding in a bullock cart was a new experience.

Till then we were taking pictures with our mobile phones but we were not allowed to carry any more mobile phones. They advised us to put our phone on a counter there because it is considered a protected holy place and taking pictures is not allowed there and everyone was asked to remain quiet.

There are two bathing pools Called Teerthakunds in the center

"Essentially, Suryakund and Chandrakund are energy pools that melt away karmic blocks, and that allow you to experience Dhyanalinga." the pool masde people to take bath seperately as surya kund for males and chanfdarkund for females. we didnt take bath in the pools and went to the linga bhairavi temple,

The temple was so holistic and some people sitting infront of the linganhairavi statue and singing chants, some the gurus of isha yoga center performing puja and arti to the linga bhairavi we worshipped and move to the Dhyana linga

The dyana Linga

The dyana linga is a hemicircle hall, build with coind technology especily ofr meditation , insithde the hall there is a hung linga statue whch represents lord shiva.

Before going inside, they made everyone sit in one place and advised them how to behave inside. After one batch leaves, they give permission to another batch. No one talks to you, they only broadcast an audio on how to behave. In it, they advise you to be quiet, feel the silence, and sit with your eyes closed while meditating.

It was dark when we went inside, and after a while our eyes got used to the darkness and recognized what was inside. There was a very large Lingam statue there. We went inside and sat with the others. Everyone was quiet, there was complete silence. A vessel was placed above the Lingam statue, and the only sound we could hear was the dripping of water. Since our eyes were closed, we could feel the silence. A strange feeling came over us.

After 15 minutes, when the bell rang, everyone got up and came out. We also got up and came out. We received the theertham and vibhuti from there. After that, we came out and went to the car park in the same way by bullock cart and battery vehicles. This experience was very different and happy.

Getting There

Getting to the Isha Yoga Center is completely straightforward. It is located around 30 kilometers (20 miles) west of Coimbatore, so it is quite convenient to reach by air, rail, or road. Coimbatore is itself a lively industrial city having regular flights from such major cities as Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. Should you decide to travel by train, the city offers a wide range of services that connect Coimbatore with not only other parts of the city but also with all corners of the country. To start with, you need to find your way to Coimbatore and then you can jump on direct buses or just simply book a taxi from the airport or railway station. In fact, the center is well-equipped with a travel desk to attend to the needs of your transportation.

Our trip to Isha Yoga Center was much more than mere sightseeing. To our surprise, it evolved into a very unique experience where we got deeply involved in a spiritual world and developed our relations within and with the others around us. Be it by participating in the rituals, getting into meditation in the beautiful surroundings, we did not get the chance to go back from the place without feeling rejuvenated and filled with light.

If you are after a place that promotes inner development while at the same time offers you spectacular scenes and experiences rooted in ancient traditions that are awesome, then, by all means, go, and see Isha Yoga Center. You don't have to worry about whether you're a novice or an experienced yoga practitioner as the place suits everyone.

I read that post, it is very useful. Especially for old posts, there are offers to earn money in it, I hope it will be helpful to many.

And my opinion is that you should create a special tag for steem atlas and make it as a default. Or insist on using that tag for posts posted in steem altas. That way, curators will be able to identify posts posted in steem altas. Because now, curator teams are advised to prioritize personal blog posts, not communities.

#steem-atlas is the main tag we are advising people to use if they are posting on Steem Atlas.

It will be useful for all curators if people do use this tag correctly.

Supporting the Steem Atlas project.
