Seasonal travels

Seasonal Travels:

  • Hey steemers! I am sorry for my absence!  These past couple of months have been a scramble. I would like to catch you up on my busy events of traveling and transitioning! I had a taste of all the seasons, since I’ve been gone!

  • First, I traveled to Pennsylvania to visit family! This trip was the first time I’ve seen a change of season and my family in a very long time! The change of color in the foliage, in the tree’s, looked like a Crayola coloring book! The change of weather was very familiar, yet felt different.  But overall, this was a phenomenal trip! Usually when my family got together, in Pennsylvania, it was due to a funeral. This time everyone chose to get together! I also got to visit my diseased grandmother's house, which brought back childhood memories. this was a very brief visit, but much needed!

  •  Unfortunately, when I got back, I found out my paternal grandmother, in Maryland, was diagnosed with cancer. It was stage four colon cancer is what the results were. This is a familiar battle, that I’ve seen many battle and I always find it very difficult to hear every time. But I remain to be very optimistic person and will always remain positive and supportive for my loved ones, not matter what!  Once I found out about this, I chose to move back to Maryland. I got a plane ticket to go back, just in time for my nephew’s 4th birthday party as well! When I arrived to Orlando airport, everything was smooth, this was also first time I’ve ever been on TSA pre-check. Once I had dinner, I headed to the bathroom and once I entered the stall, I heard a loud announcement, “attention, this is an emergency evacuation! We’re asking everyone in the airport to evacuate!” I thought to myself that this had to be the worst time to announce at the setting I was in, but, ended up proceeding with these directions. This had to be the first time I’ve ever had to be evacuated out of the airport. This is an experience I would never wish anyone to encounter. This all happened, due to someone’s lithium battery exploding in security. After evacuating the airport, everyone had to go through security again. This process took hours. What I also learned, was that airplane pilots can only fly for a limited amount of time. Once they go over this time, they are no longer able to fly legally. Long story short, once I got through security and shoved my way through a mosh pit of people, I found out my flight was canceled. The only positive part of that experience, was being in TSA pre-check. By the time I found out my flight was canceled and planned on leaving the airport, there were still people waiting in line to get through security and find out their flights were canceled. After this nightmare and about a week after, I was finally able to fly back to Maryland.

(One Last trip to the beach, before I left for Maryland. The clouds seemed like they were trying to comfort me with a formation that looked like an "okay" hand gesture.)

  • When I got back to Maryland, I was just in time to witness the first snow of the year! It wasn’t that much snow, compared to what I’ve seen before, but it was enough to remind me that winter is here! It will take a little bit of time to get used to the cold again. This the worst part of living in Florida for a year, then going back up North again. I truly understand the reasoning and the lifestyle of a true snow bird! Only, instead of moving away from the snow I am moving toward it.   Overall, all these trips have been my glimpse of all the seasons all in one! Now I am back to square one again! I can’t wait to get back on track, spend time with family and spread the holiday cheer! I thank you all for reading my adventures and I am glad to be back! Happy holidays to everyone!

(First snow to welcome me back home!)
