RE: Travel with me #90 : Inside the Kale - Kaleiçi, Antalya!

in #travel7 years ago

Such a beautiful colourful tour of the ancient city of Kaleiçi, @sweetsssj.

I felt swamped by a tidal wave of colour.

I had almost forgotten the old world charm of narrow city streets, vendors' stalls, open-square restaurants and terraced gardens.

I'm sure much of the city Hadrian and the Queen of Sheba visited still remains to this day.

The citadel was impressive and the towering minaret, not to mention the pirate boats in the harbour and the colourful Ottoman houses--such a romantic locale, especially for a writer, but more especially for a dreamer.

I could sense you were swept up in the mystery of the city--your video was a magical and haunting walkabout of ancient Kaleiçi and all its beauties.

Resorts have their place and their function but you wisely chose the better part. You fell in love with the soul of the city--it's plainly written on the page for all to see.

I was charmed by the cat rescue. It looked like a cat motel. My tabby, Thomas, would be quite at home, although bored with semi-feral cats, since he is a Muse.

I loved the progression of the photos as you followed the sun from early morning to sundown, and left us with images of green laser lights illumining the hillside and the clock tower glowing violet in the dusk.

A truly artistic presentation of the beauties of an ancient site with so much to offer a contemporary visitor.

Well done, sssj!
