Bali Island and Nusa Penida! Experience Traveling Dear Friends

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

This morning, Thursday, January 24, 2018, at 06:35 pm from the point of 0 kilometers Jogja, I started traveling around Indonesia. This story is not without purpose, for me personally traveling around Indonesia is just a form of self-esteem for being able to finish one of the achievements in life. Traveling around Indonesia is also a small dream that I once dreamed of and became one of life's choices, that's all.

After starting the intention, I headed toward Lempuyangan station to leave for Banyuwangi at 07.00 WIB. This journey takes about 15 hours using motor cycle Sri Tanjung, then cross from Ketapang port to Gilimanuk Bali for one hour journey. From Bali, I continued by bus to Padang Bai port to cross to my original destination, Nusa Penida Island.

One of the most interesting things I've met on this trip is that I meet new people with their stories. Starting from the story of the father of a lecturer at one of the campuses in NTB who again S3 college but now still alive barely because the cost of salary lecturers discharged by tuition S3 for six years. I also met foreign tourists who came to Indonesia on the grounds of winter weather in the country to feel how tolerance on the Island of Gods as a Muslim as well as a minority in the largest Muslim country in the world.

While on my way to the port of Padang Bai, I stopped at a friend's house in Klungkung, Bali. I stayed two nights in Klungkung and had the opportunity to visit Klungkung tourist area, Tengganan, and the area of Karang Asem, Bali. I also saw the condition of the refugees after the eruption of Mount Agung.

Puputan Monument, Klungkung: Remembering an all-out resistance against the Dutch

In the center of Klungkung City, there is a large monument called Puputan Klungkung monument. We can see the towering archaic monumental monument built to commemorate the Klungkung royal resistance of the kingdom against the Dutch colony. Inside is the story of the kingdom of Klungkung who unfortunately meet defeat. However, unfortunately very rarely visitors enter into this monument and just take pictures on the outside only. In addition, this place becomes a favorite location of young Klungkung at night because here is free Wifi available all day.

Tenganan Tourism Village: Discovering the real Bali

People's says, if you want to see the real Bali, then come to the village of Tenganan. Balinese customs and culture still survive well in this village. The village of Tenganan is also known for its Pandanus War tradition. Houses that are hundreds of years old still standing and well maintained. Here there are also many Balinese weaving craftsmen and souvenir sellers. However, unfortunately I came at a less precise time. At that time the village of Tengganan serve as one of the refugee camps of Mount Agung. The right time to come here is in June, July, and August.

Virgin Beach: the beach is still clean and fine sand

From Tenganan Village, we can directly go to Virgin Beach which can be reached for 15 minutes by motorcycle. If walking will probably take 1-2 hours. The entry fee is 5 thousand per person. Before you get to the beach, you can stop by and sit for a moment in the hill of asih which presents beautiful sea cliff scenery. The Virgin beach is clean and the white sand is smooth. The water is blue and calm, perfect for snorkling and swimming. So beautiful, it is said this beach used to be a struggle between two villages.

Water Palace Karangasem: a prewedding recommendation place that has not been much touched

If Jogja have Taman Sari, Bali has Ujung Water Palace Park.

This place is very rarely known though tourists, probably because the place is far at the end of Karang Asem Regency. It could be that origin is called Taman Ujung. From Virgin Beach, it's about half an hour away. This place is really cool, very good for photos and quite clean too, although the price of admission here to me is quite expensive, which is 15 thousand per-person. Oiya, this place is highly recommended to work on pre-wedding photos.

After traveling around in eastern Bali, the next day I continued my journey to Nusa Penida and lived in Muslim village of Toya Pakeh with the big family of Dawn for two nights. One of the places I most recommend to come to Nusa Penida is Pantai Kelingking. You must come here, especially if you can go down to the beach below. It is to be down here to be careful, steep because of it. But once you get to the bottom, you'll call god's name so cool. The most beautiful beach I've ever met. Super-recommended anyway.
