I am not currently an expat, but was one for a very long time as the daughter of a diplomat. And it's funny, but although I now live in my hometown, I still get a lot of questions about all the cities I lived around the world and have developed a fast-track explanation. Actually, I adapt my explanation to the person that asks me. Some ask for more details and I am always happy to dive in, but most people are just curious.
