My First Co-Working Experience — Canggu, Bali

When we first get introduced to travel, it usually comes in the form of a vacation. You pick a destination with some friends and/or family, you set a few dates, make a few plans, live it up and return home to your normal life. That's usually what travel consists of for 99% of people.

These days, travel looks quite different for me. I've opted for long term travel instead of short term travel. There's no returning 'home'. Wherever I am for the night, is home. I try not to just 'visit' a place anymore, I try to live there — whether short term or long term. This consists of having to do laundry, get a haircut, buy your normal supplies for daily life, living in apartments instead of hotels and — working.

Lately, I've been looking into co-working spaces to work more efficiently. I usually travel and work solo — but I wanted a change, without necessarily adding another person to my itinerary. I stopped by this co-working place in Bali that I've known about and got a day pass to try it out. I loved it immediately.

I've found myself renting villas, airbnbs or hotels and either working from there or going to local coffee shops to work wherever I am. But the co-working space? I can't say enough about it. I'm surrounded by people living the same lifestyle as me and the energy is contagious. It's also better than sitting somewhere by myself, in my own thoughts. It's motivating to see people on their laptops, getting work done, sharing stories, networking and witnessing people on a similar journey as me.

Sitting by yourself in a hotel or airbnb can be productive, but I found myself starting to question my path because I'm not around anyone else doing what I'm doing. Instead of comparing myself to people who don't live my life, I surrounded myself with people who share a similar lifestyle, who do the same type of work as me and who are also into crypto like me. I'm really glad I've been able to fill this void in my life. This was the missing puzzle. This little change upgraded my life and I can already feel new beginnings start to happen from being around like-minded people.

The one thing I learned from this is simple. Get in where you fit in. There's a community of people for everyone. Your vibe attracts your tribe — but sometimes the tribe can affect your vibe.

Shoutout to everyone out there who chose to leave the life they knew behind for a chance to live a better one.

This isn't a vacation, this is a lifestyle!
