Hi Steemians, since quite some days this is my first sign of life again. The reason isn't HF 20 as you may have assumed, but the fact that currently we are traveling across Asia.

At the moment we are visiting the family of my wife, @kobold-djawa, in Blora, Indonesia.
Later on we are going to travel to Bangkok, were we will meet two very good friends which we got acquainted with here on Steemit: @mayasiam, the mastercook :) , and @tangmo, who is making high quality posts as well, which for example include nature photography and pictures of architecture in Thailand.
Unfortunately it turned out that we won't be able to meet @jumaidafajar and her husband, @teukumukhlis, too. We would have loved to see you! Thanks for sending us nice gifts for our little daughter!

After going to Bangkok, another highlight will be to meet @redpalestino - well known here for example for his amazing videos and great food posts - in Kuala Lumpur. Thanks so much for your invitation!

Finally we will stay some days in Phuket, Thailand again, to enjoy sun, beach and sea.

Of course I will write some posts about all this after (and, if time and internet speed allow, also during) our vacation. As the internet connection at many locations here is not really stable, I will probably abstain from uploading videos until we are back at home again.

Altogether we will have to fly not less than ten(!) times, and today I will just show you some pictures I made during and between the first three flights.

Hallo Steemians, wie einige von euch sicher bemerkt haben, ist es seit einer ganzen Weile ziemlich still um meinen Account geworden. Der Grund dafür ist nicht etwa HF 20, was vielleicht nahe gelegen hätte, sondern dass wir derzeit durch Asien reisen.

Im Moment besuchen wir gerade die Familie meiner Frau, @kobold-djawa, in Blora, Indonesien.
Anschließend reisen wir nach Bangkok, wo wir zwei gute Freundinnen treffen werden, die wir hier auf Steemit kennengelernt haben: @mayasiam, die Meisterköchin :) , und @tangmo, die ebenfalls tolle Artikel, z. B. Fotoposts über schöne Landschaften oder Architektur in Thailand, verfasst.
Leider ließ sich ein Treffen mit @jumaidafajar und ihrem Mann, @teukumukhlis, nicht verwirklichen. Wir hätten euch so gerne auch getroffen - danke für die schönen Geschenke für unsere kleine Tochter!

Von Bangkok aus geht es dann weiter nach Kuala Lumpur. Wir freuen uns schon sehr darauf, dort @redpalestino - bekannt beispielsweise für seine erstaunlichen Videos und tollen Food-Posts - zu treffen. Herzlichen Dank für deine Einladung!

Den Rest des Urlaubs verbringen wir schließlich in Phuket, Thailand, um Sonne, Strand und Meer zu genießen.

Auf jeden Fall werden weitere Posts über unsere Reise folgen. Da die Internetverbindung an vielen Orten nicht besonders stabil ist, und ich auch kaum Zeit finde, weiß ich nicht, wie oft mir das Schreiben von Artikeln schon während des Urlaubs möglich sein wird. Auch an den Upload von Videos werde ich mich möglicherweise erst heranwagen, wenn wir wieder zu Hause sind.

Insgesamt haben wir nicht weniger als zehn(!) Flüge zu absolvieren, und heute möchte ich euch einige Fotos zeigen, die ich während der (und zwischen den) ersten drei gemacht habe.

In Jakarta we stayed two nights in the Millennium Hotel Sirih Jakarta. The view from the ninth floor over the city was just amazing, but altogether for a nature lover like me Jakarta is kind of a 'hell on earth' full of traffic jam and smog. Why is no emphasis placed on effective public transport? Why isn't the use of electric cars and above all electric mopeds promoted by the government, unlike in Chinese cities, which are hit by smog, as well? The noise produced by the countless motorcycles (whose drivers in addition love to use the already sparse pavements) is just deafening. Moreover, In such a congested city, it certainly made sense if as many people as possible would work from home.

In Jakarta übernachteten wir zweimal im Millennium Hotel Sirih Jakarta. Der Ausblick aus dem neunten Stock über die Stadt war fantastisch, aber insgesamt betrachtet ist Jakarta für einen Naturliebhaber wie mich so eine Art 'Hölle auf Erden', geplagt von immerwährendem Stau und Smog. Warum wird kein Wert auf einen effektiven öffentlichen Nahverkehr gelegt? Warum wird die Nutzung von Elektroautos und vor allem -mopeds, anders als in ebenfalls vom Smog heimgesuchten chinesischen Städten, nicht von der Regierung gefördert? Der von den unzähligen Motorrädern (deren Fahren zu allem Übel überaus gerne die ohnehin spärlich ausgebauten Gehwege benutzen) erzeugte Lärm ist ohrenbetäubend. In einer dermaßen verstopften Stadt wäre es überdies sicherlich sinnvoll, so viele Menschen wie möglich von zu Hause aus arbeiten zu lassen.

I cannot judge whether this claim of Garuda Indonesia is true, but the imprint on the food box reminded me remotely of the STEEM logo. :)

Ich kann nicht beurteilen, ob diese Behauptung von Garuda Indonesia der Wahrheit entspricht, aber der Aufdruck auf der Essensschachtel erinnerte mich entfernt an das STEEM-Logo. :)

Finally we arrived tired but happy in Semarang, from which we continued our trip by taxi to reach Blora.

Schließlich müde aber glücklich in Semarang angekommen, setzten wir unsere Reise dann per Taxi fort, um nach Blora zu gelangen.
