Travel : Up North Ilocos Sur Part 1
When you have a holiday before the weekend, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? If I were to answer the question, I'll scream VACATION!!! Yes! So my hubby and I scheduled our vacation and went home to Ilocos Sur! We both loved the laid back life of the province so we made the most of that long weekend.
A much needed R&R! We first went to Mambog, Sta. Cruz Ilocos Sur. This beauty is a beach tucked away from the major highway. I used to bring my DSLR camera with me, but since it's already bulky, I use my smartphone camera more often now.
We stayed there roasting hotdogs and just watching the sunset.
Ending the day with much happiness!
The next day we went to Vitalis Villas Resort, the Santorini of the North. A greek inspired beach resort located in Santiago, Ilocos Sur. Who would have thought that one does not need to go to Greece to see the Santorini.
This is how it looks from afar.
Vitalis Villas staff are very warm and accommodating people! They will answer all your questions with a smile!
This is the chapel front.
Look at how beautiful the altar looks like with all the ceiling murals!
Their ceiling that is screaming with Greek design. It is called the meandros. A meandros or meander is a decorative border constructed from a continuous line, shaped into a repeated motif.
They also have Greek sculptures!
Then we moved to another resort which is more budget friendly and it is just a kilometer away from Vitalis Villas Resort. It isn't pretty obvious we love the sea and the beach so much!
We ordered their Boodle meal and ate to our heart's content. All are fresh catch by the way! As the Ilocanos say it "mangan tayon! (Let's Eat!)"
