New Seabourn itinerary explores west coast of South America

There's a new way to travel the west coast of South America in luxury.

Upscale cruise operator Seabourn is out with a new, 24-night itinerary that takes a deep dive into the region with more than a dozen stops in Ecuador, Peru and Chile.

Seabourn only is offering a single sailing of the itinerary for now that kicks off on Nov. 4, 2018. It'll take place on the 450-passenger Seabourn Quest.

Starting in Miami, the voyage will feature a stop in Key West, Fla. and Bocas del Toro, Panama as the Quest travels to the Panama Canal for a transit to the Pacific.

From there, Quest will head south to Ecuador for stops at Manta, Isla de la Plata and Puerto Bolivar.

Continuing southward, the ship will call in the Peruvian ports of Salaverry, Callao (the port for Lima), General San Martin (for a visit to Pisco) and Matarani. The ship will spend the night in Callao to give passengers extra time in Lima.

The last part of the trip will bring visits to the Chilean ports of Arica, Antofagasta, Isla Pan de Azucar, Coquimbo and Valparaiso (near Santiago).

Fares for the voyage start at $10,499 per person, based on double occupancy and not including taxes, fees and port expenses of $1,255.

Seabourn in January unveiled its first new ship in five years, Seabourn Encore. For a deck-by-deck tour of the vessel, scroll through the carousel at the top of this story.
