Why you should let kids travel too
Last week, I was privileged to speak to parents in one of the top schools in Lagos during their PTA meeting about THE IMPORTANCE OF PARENTS INVOLVING THEIR KIDS IN TOURISM ACTIVITIES - especially cross states and countries . I got the chance to hear the reason why some of them don't really get the "travel vibes" and a majority of them said
"it's because we didn't grow up traveling, we majorly went visiting only family and friends..." - Just as I had expected!
While visiting family and friends is just as awesome as it could be, traveling to unfamiliar places for the first time to experience something far from the usuals has a great impact to the development of kids and the nation as a whole. These were some of the key points I shared with them;
- Traveling is a great opportunity to teach kids about diversity in the world.
- It allows kids to be more adaptable to changing situations and be more flexible in their habits.
- Traveling builds the confidence of kids.
- Travel helps ignite kid’s imagination and creativity.
- Traveling makes language learning easy.

In summary, traveling is the best education any parent could give a child. classrooms are good, but a lot is waiting for them outside it! -
