fly to Penang for a day trip to grab 800 pieces of RM2 banknote

Yesterday take a morning flight to Penang from Kuala Lumpur International Airport(KLIA) to grab RM2 banknote. The trip was not easy. I need to be at KLIA from midnight and wait until 5 am before i am board the plane . My flight was brought one year ago at RM39.22

After paying RM30 to use the toilet at Plaza lounge to take a warm shower around 4 30 am , i go board my plane .

I reach the Penang International Airport around 6 am .

After that i need to take a bus to Jelutong area to reach the bank that hold the RM2 banknote. The bus ride took an hour plus to reach , once i get down from the bus, it tool me another 10 to 15 minute to locate the bank following google map .

However because i reach the bank around 8 30 am , i wait at the nearby restaurant until it open . After it open i go and to meet up with the chief cashier.

After a short chat with the chief casher , i call a grabcar ride to Bank Negara Malaysia Penang Branch . I go there and check all the RM2 i just collected from the bank to see if there is any valuable RM2 that are good for collection and sent those with no collection to Bank Negara Malaysia to be destroy.Plus it is the safest place to do this with all the armed police guarding it .

Oh my, the BNM stuff suddenly remember who i am because 3 years ago i bring a lot of RM2 banknote. To them it is a nightmare when need to handle so much RM2 banknote . The reason is because every RM2 go in, they need to sign every pieces before it can be destroy . Sadly after filtering , i found out out of 800 pieces , only 25 pieces is in good condition . The rest are either foxing , tear and have dirt on it , mean it have no collection value .

After finish filtering and sent it in , i need to wait for them to sign every piece for 1 hour . Once that is done , the time is already around 12 30 pm afternoon. so i go and have my lunch at my armenian cafe,

After i have my lunch , i am exhausted from the trip . i decide to go to the airport to rest since i don't have any strength to go walk around plus the bus ride is 1 hour plus from the north of penang to the south of penang . After reaching the airport around 3 pm, i just sit there and nap from time to time .

I board my plane at 7 pm after 3 hour of waiting .

I reach KLIA airport around 8 pm . While the trip is loss since this batch of RM2 are mostly no value , there will always be another batch of RM2 out there that might contain Prefix ZB. Hope the next RM2 hunt will be a profitable one. I been doing this for 6 years and proud to have found 5 piece of RM2 Prefix ZB for the collector .
