Surprised By Nature In Kings Canyon National Park
After short two days in San Francisco, it was time to set off to the road. This time our destination was the Kings Canyon. After a long drive and few rest stops, we reached our destination around noon and with a help of nice ranger we started to plan our day there.
Our first stop was the at general grant tree. This stop was pretty close to the visitor center, but somehow we managed to get confused on the way. Thankfully we managed to find out way there, cause those trees are HUGE!
There was a nice short trail where we could wander between those beautiful giant trees. There was also a big tree that fell off that you could walk inside of it.
Our next stop was Hume Lake which we managed to find pretty quickly, as we got used to the canyon's map. This lake was quiet and peaceful, that I did not want to leave. I could see myself spend there all day having a picnic and enjoying this unbelievably beautiful view. Unfortunately, we did not have much time before sunset and we still had a lot of places to see.
As we drive out of the Hume Lake towards, toward the Canyon view, we finally had the chance to get a better look at this mesmerizing canyon. I seriously did not expect it to be so beautiful.
As we were driving on that winding road, surrounded by the canyon's mountains and kings river, I found on a map another great destination to stop by, the grizzly falls. I was wondering if there are grizzly bears there, as we saw few signs on the way to not feed the bears. Unfortunately (or should I say luckily) there were no bears near the falls. Still, this place was very nice, and I'm glad we stopped there.
After our quick stop at the grizzly falls we finally reached the viewpoint.
It was almost sunset time, and we knew had to start our way back to entrance as we did not want to drive that tortuous road at night. Yet, we still made a few stops on our way back, as we could not resist to stop in some other viewpoints and take some pictures.
We had a wonderful experience in Kings Canyon National Park, and I hope I could come back some day and spend a few days in this beautiful place.
