Virtual Date Alert! Let's Go Treasure Hunting in Paradise Cave, Vietnam Together! 🌏⛰️
Have you ever wanted to go treasure hunting? Looking deep down, underground, exploring what is hiding below?
It's a full day tour... We just have to take a bus to get to a boat to get there, are you ready to come explore with me?
Situated out in the National Park, the cave is a jungle oasis with a gorgeous natural backdrop highlighting the spectacular feature hidden underground.
Let's go on in shall we? After you...
The sign is just the beginning, it lends its way to an opening to a staircase leading down into the cold cave below. Watch your step, my friend Dave took not one but TWO slip and slides here! The first, knocking himself into an elderly lady who (luckily for him) stopped his fall but was not pleased at our giggling over his (hilarious) misfortune that just so happened to end up being the highlight of the GoPro footage!
On wards we go, wishing I had a sweater and scarf handy, the cave opened up in a wonderful cathedral of sounds amplifying off every edge.
Check out this monster attraction! Does it grow up from the ground or down from the ceiling! The debate continues, I'm still not sure what I think about it! Tony, our guide didn't seem to know either ;)
I don't usually hire tour guides, I am more of an off the beaten track kind of traveler but I was on this trip with my best friend who surprised me from Canada and she is not so much a fan of unorganized activities so here we were... on a schedule that was coming to a close quickly to get us to the next cave in time!
There is only one way in and one way out that you are able to access so, once you're in there, you get to do a nice loop! I took forever making my way to the end, not considering this!
Did you know: Stalagmites rise from the floor whereas stalactites hang from the ceiling! Now you know!
Tony the guide asked us if we could see the animal in the stone... I see a whale!
The cave was really amazing, don't get me wrong but it's quite cold and I am suddenly getting the very claustrophobic feeling that I am quite far underground with giant rock formations above my head, threatening to shake at any given moment... I think I'd like to be on time for the bus so I am just going to book it back to the entry if you don't mind!
On the road again, we saw this gorgeous blue water and begged the driver to stop! Giving us a quick couple of minutes to take photos, we stopped at the entrance to "Dark Cave" where they have ziplining just behind where I am standing! Next time ;)
The colour of the water was so mesmerizing... if Tony wasn't in such a hurry, we could have jumped off this cliff into it!
Honestly, I never could have imagined that Vietnam was as beautiful as it is! The whole drive was just scene after scene of epic natural beauty! Here are some highlights while we are driving over to Phong Nha Cave!
How are you liking our date so far? I am going to go visit the other cave in the park, do you want to come?
Let me know if you do and I'll book you a ticket on over with me. We can go later today! First I need to rest a bit, it was a long way to get here! Give me a little time to recoop and we can go on over! The next one comes with a really fun boat ride down the river into the open mouth of the cave!
I'm excited! Are you?
I love that I am able to bring you along with me! This is so much fun! I can show you the world....
Sending love to all over the world, wherever you may be! Check me out if you love travel, food, stories, love, sunshine, happiness and everything else in between the heart and a smile! It's my goal to inspire a light in your heart and a smile to your face!
FUN FACT: While you're waiting for part 2 of this date, I am finishing my fantastical travel confession series from Dominican Republic! It's a fun read ;)
Ok, be right back to take you over to the other side of the park!

Hi @zainalabidin =D here's part two of the cave adventure :) You can see it by clicking here This one is a water cave! =D
Phong Nha is one of my favourite places in Vietnam!
Thanks for bringing back good memories :-)
Aww isn't it just so incredibly beautiful? I was so shocked by how Vietnam changed my perspective on what I thought it was going to be like! I loved it there =D
was there the 1st time in 89. It did change a lot but still so much to see and as soon as you go away from the beach it is not overly fucked up by the tourist industry
Honestly I didn't find it that bad in Vietnam! Maybe because I am so used to seeing worse haha I can't say and I didn't do Halong which is probably one of the most popular places but I really had a great time there! =D
Do not get me wrong! I love Vietnam - the "old" Vietnam more than the "new" one. I will be back next winter!! And will be back in Phong Nha as well :-)
Oh that is so awesome! I hope to go back another time one day in this life of mine as well ;) I do want to see the bay =D
Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.

Of course I knew that stalagmites rise from the floor whereas stalactites hang from the ceiling. And the mnemonic to remember is, excuse my French, stalac-tit(e)s hang.
HAHAHA That's too good @likedeeler! I will surely never forget that now ;) Thanks for sharing and for the good laugh <3
That's is a very awesome place! I love the view. Nature really has it's own way of doing art. Be careful though, rock might fall from above.
It's OK, many people enter every day without a problem =D It's very cool to be inside though, I would go back again if I was ever visiting the area to see all of the parts I missed! Nature is a beautiful dream <3
beautiful images, its definitely a sight to behold
