How much did we spend in Dominican Republic?
Following up my blog post detailing our Dominican Republic trip, I would like to share with you our total spending so that you can use it as a reference while planning your travel budget for DR.
Dominican Republic Pesos. They are particular in including many public figures in just one banknote.
We spent around 1270 Euros in total including everything. We were two. We tried to be moderate. As I mentioned in the previous post, I do not think DR is very cheap for travelling.
Distribution of the spendings for two people:
1- Flight tickets for two people from Barcelona to Punta Cana: 400 EUR
2- Transportation within the city and between cities: 70 EUR (the cheapest thing in the country)
Plus, we took an airport transfer the first day for 22EUR since it was our first day and we didn't want to bargain with the taxi drivers who charge around 30EUR generally.
3- Accommodation: 230 EUR (on average 23 EUR per day)
4- Two tours 180 EUR (whale tour: 120 EUR and Isla Saona tour: 60 EUR)
- Food and other costs: 368EUR (18EUR per person per day)
