A castle in Caracas?
Last weekend i was walking around a place call "Colinas de Bello Monte" with a friend, we were going to a photography workshop and by the end we decided to walk because my friend told me that he has seen a castle near, i told him that once i was in a car with someone coworkers but we didnt stop, becuase that place is located near to a intersection. Any way, we keep walking and talking, in the road you can see that most of the construcctions are houses with a really nice architecture, also is a really great landscape becase of the hills and you get a really nice view of all the city.
We came to the palace and later realice that is really close to the subway, when we arrive to the palace we notice that is a lonely area with homeless people around, our firts idea was to enter to the palace and see the architecture inside. The front of the palace is made with rocks and has a sculptures of seven eagles, please see the next image.
Just before we continue with history of that day, the palace is an architectural monument that has been under construction since 1973; its process will never end because it represents the development and evolution of man's thought. The real meaning of the sculptures it symbolizes education for freedom and peace, fundamental concepts for its creator. It has seven columns on which stone eagles rest, which represent the human being, love, freedom, evolution, religion, peace and perfection.
Is a great piece of art and inspires me a lot, but it breaks my heart that the place is really lonely and the inside access is close because of the insecurity. To me this place is the representation of Caracas, is a awsome art with a lot of potencial but becase of political choices is not open for the people, if we have this type of places in our city, why not show up? why not to improve them? why we dont exalt the beauty?
That day we could not access, but i want to continue exalting this type of places, to show that Caracas is way more that what we know or ear, that is a place with great potencial
