004 VFX GIPSY TRAVELS - Singapore (2014/2015) Part 2: The S.A.E. Aquarium in Sentosa

Hey guys, here is another post regarding my time back in Singapore.

Singapore offers a lot culture and a lot of different entertainment possibilities. And Sentosa island, a small artificial island that is part of Singapore, is no exception. Festivals, Universal Studios, Hard Rock Cafe', Shopping malls, beaches, bars, artificial surfing waves, water jet packs, wind tunnels etc etc.. AND there is also an awesome aquarium!

In 2012 when the S.A.E. Aquarium opened it had the biggest aquarium water tank in the world, containing over 800 species of marine animals surrounded by 12-million gallons of water. I am not sure if it is still considered the biggest tank in the world today, but it is pretty impressive.

It takes about 2-3 hours to see the whole aquarium if you do not want to rush, but want to enjoy all the different environments. When I went there it was close to Halloween, so they had some Halloween decorations in a few of the bigger tanks. There is a blue screen area where you can take a picture with family and friends, and they will Photoshop you inside a water tank or something similar. Just a memory picture.

Besides the normal tour, you can also book a under water tour. You basically get a underwater suit that you can put on top of your normal clothes, and a giant helmet with a big glass front, and they will let you walk inside the giant 12-million gallons water tank surrounded by small sharks, manta rays and countless other sea creatures. I probably will do that if I have the chance to go back to Singapore.

It is really worth the time and money to go see the aquarium if you are for a few days in Singapore.

Singapur bietet viel Kultur und Unterhaltungsmöglichkeiten an. Sentosa, eine kleine künstliche Insel die zu Singapur dazu gehört, ist da keine Ausnahme. Festivals, die Universal Studios, Hard Rock Cafe, Einkaufszentren, Strände, Bars, Künstliche Surf-wellen, Wasser Jet-Packs, Windtunnel, usw usw.. UND unter anderem ein fantastische Aquarium.

Als 2012 das S.A.E. Aquarium eröffnet wurde, hatte es den Welt grössten Wassertank für ein Aquarium in dem sich über 800 verschieden Meerestiere befinden umgeben von 12 Millionen Gallon Wasser. Ich bin mir jetzt nicht 100% sicher das es immer noch der grösste Wassertank der Welt ist, aber es ist nichts desto trotz sehr beeindruckend.

Wenn man sich seine Zeit nimmt, verbringt man 2-3 Stunden im Aquarium um sich alles anzusehen. Als ich die Tour damals machte, war es fast Halloween und dementsprechend konnte man in den grösseren Tanks Halloween Dekoration finden. Es gibt auch einen Blue-Screen Abschnitt wo man Fotos mit Freunden und Familie machen kann, wo man dann im inneren eines Wassertanks oder ähnlichen reinretuschiert wird, als Erinnerungsfoto.

Abgesehen von der normalen Tour, kann man noch eine unter Wasser Tour machen. Dafür bekommt man einen unter Wasser Anzug den man sich über seine Kleidung ziehen kann, zusammen mit einem Großen Helm der eine große Glasscheibe vorne dran hat. Wenn man angezogen ist wird, kann man dann innerhalb des 12-Millionen Gallon Wassertank rumspazieren, umgeben von kleinen Haien, Teufelsrochen und unzähligen anderen Meerestieren. Ich werde wohl die unter Wasser-Tour nachholen wenn ich mal wieder in Singapur bin

Falls ihr euch mal für ein paar Tage in Singapur befindet, lohnt es sich die Zeit und das Geld für den Besuch des Aquariums zu investieren.
