It experiences extreme ranges of temperature both in summers and winters. With a sheer diversity in climate and topography, Ladakh is unique in each of aspect. Adventure tours in Ladakh give you a golden opportunity to explore the remote beauty of this hilly desert.
Chadar Frozen River Trek on the Zanskar River: As winters set in this scenic valley of Ladakh, Zanskar River – the only passage to the main valley – freezes down. Popularly referred to as Chadar trek, it is one of the unique and most exciting treks, with chilled rushing water flowing inches below down your feet.
Your journey to the icy wonderland of the frozen Zanskar River will begin from Leh. From Leh, you will move forward to Chilling, followed by Tilad Do, which is the starting point of Chadar trek. On reaching Tilad Do, proceed towards Gyalpo, followed by Div cave, and then to the village of Naerak. On your way from Div to Naerak, the breathtaking views of icicles and ice peaks are sure to steal your gaze for a while. As you reach Naerak, you have to commence your return journey to Leh, which passes through Tibb, Shingra Koma and Chilling. Beating the challenges offered by the inhospitable conditions of temperature and terrain, and completing the trekking route, is an achievement in itself. Stok Kangri: At an elevation of about 20128 feet above sea level, Stok Kangri is the highest mountain range in Ladakh. Located about 24 km from Leh district, it is a popular peak in Ladakh, and despite its altitude, this peak is the most chosen for trekking expeditions in Ladakh.

The expedition will start from the old village of Stok, and from there you will travel to Chang Ma, which is at an altitude of about 13087 feet. As night approaches, stay relaxed and prepare yourself for the remaining excursion.
This section of the expedition will take you to the base camp of the mountain. On the way, you will get a chance to sight beautiful glacial lakes and wonderful scenery of lush green meadows. To get to the top, you have to first pass through the glacier and then through the slope with gradient of about 75 degrees. After climbing for an hour, the onward excursion is a bit simple.
