Our trip to Phi Phi Islands! Part #1

in #travel7 years ago

Today we continue on our journey around the beautiful Islands of Thailand. We finished our trip at Koh Lipe and now we're heading towards Phi Phi Islands. Unlike Lipe, it wasn't our first time coming here. Last year we absolutely loved it and we couldn't miss coming back to this heavenly place again! Now we had a clear idea of what we want to do and where do we wanna go. We were staying at Phi Phi Natural Resort which has been there for over 30 years. It is separated from the main part of the island, so the only way to get there is by a boat. We had to take a speedboat from Koh Lipe that took us on a long 6 hour journey until we reached our final destination. Once there we took another boat which got us to our hotel. It took around 30 minutes since our resort was on the other side of the island but it was a good opportunity to take some photos.

First look around Phi Phi

It wasn't as easy to take photos since the boat was really shaky but I managed to capture some good ones. Halfway through I realised my ISO was too high.. (forgot to switch it back from the previous day.. newbie mistakes as expected) so expect to see some noise here and there.

The pier is surrounded by many boats - big and small but it is always an amazing sight all around. The water here has this amazing turquoise colour that just stuns you at first sight.

First thing we saw after we got off the pier was.. well lots of other boats going off from the pier to different destinations. This one caught my eye with the kid laying on the front.

And boats going back to the pier after a day trip or some other activity.

The other side of the island is where we were staying at. It is a lot calmer and full of small beaches with only one or two resorts around them or nothing at all. There are a lot of fisherman's houses too.

We passed by Rantee Bay which is located on the bottom end of this side of the island. It is the first bigger beach on the east side of Phi Phi Don. Our resort was way up north.

This I believe is Mosquito Island which was the closest island from our resort. Some people often try and go kayaking to it.. (the staff from our hotel said that they always make it to the island but can't come back and have to use a speed boat to bring them back).

This time we had a great view around the island before we even leave our stuff in the hotel room. No matter how many times I see this place it will always feel like it came out of a movie. I wish you all to some day go and see it for yourselves or if you've already been to, go again because I know that one time isn't enough! This is all for today and stay tuned for more tomorrow when I'm going to take you to Maya Bay and the beautiful Pileh Lagoon!

Sort:

Soon you will be living there, it's indeed a magical place to travel.

Well not exactly there but within close reach heh. I would be able to hop in for a weekend easily. :)

Great photos! Love the topography of those islands. They sort of remind me of the Moana movie, by their shape. It looks like you're having a good time!

Hehe they are in a different part of the wOrld from where Moana’s story is but it is the tropics none the less so quite close. :)

благодаря за пожеланието, искрено се надявам един ден да посетя тези райски кътчета, а на вас пожелания за нови прекрасни пътешествия!

Gorgeous. Thailand is no secret anymore...thanks laregly to the Swedes.
