Sharing pics with Steemit family of my successful 23 to 24 km trek on walk to Yamunotri Dham in Uttarakhand. So happy with this achievement for me.
There was a landslide on way to yamunotri base point Janaki Chatti. So the roads were blocked some 20 kms before the base point. An alternate route (5 to 5.5 kms approx) used by mules and horses is being used temporarily to reach the other side, where again you can take jeeps to reach the base point. Then the 5+ kms steep climb trek to yamunotri starts. We preferred this whole trek to go on foot and then return too. But when we climbed down back to Janki Chatti, it was late, dark and the kachha raasta was closed. So we stayed there at night and early morning at 5 treked back on foot to reach the point where our bus was and returned back to our hotel.
It was an amazing thrilling and divine experience. ( And adventurous and bit risky one also for that mules wala kichad bhara raasta).
But all worth when you achieve a mission that seemed so difficult.
