Cromlech of the Almendres

Hello fellow steemians :)

I wanna post about my travels and a nice place I have recently visited in Portugal. The stone circles near Évora in the Alentejo region.

These gigantic stones were put there during the Neolithic.

I arrive there kinda late in the afternoon but the place ended up to be the best for sleeping in a van outside in nature.

The stones are supposed to be aligned with the moon and the sun and the view at night was really amazing as all the stars were visible. The place was probably used for spiritual gatherings in the old times, celebrations during solstice and I believe it was the place for a lot of late night orgies back in the ancient times, It looked like its still used for that as I could see some women leave their underwear behind hanging on the fence that separates the historic site from the privately owned lands surrounding it. XD

Its a good place to visit and a great place to spend a night outside in nature.
