Travel Vietnam Day 7 Da Nang Rain Rain Rain
Got up at 4:30 AM to catch the sunrise. Walked to the beach only to find an overcast horizon.
Then one guy falls on his back and started flailing his arms and legs. Wtf!?!?
Waited for an hour to see if the sun can push through but to my disappointment it did not.
Finally, my mind told me that there will be no sun today and took photos inland instead.
There's a bit of swell here, I won't be surprised to see some locals or tourists surfing.
They have lifeguards that keeps a close eye on the action.
I think this is what they would use to rescue a group of people. Hmmmm.
Then it started raining so I headed back to the hotel. On the way, I saw coconut trees with young coconuts along the main road. I am not sure if this can be picked by the public. That would be awesome though.
It is 6 AM and the usually busy streets are calm and desolate.
The city of Da Nang is construction city. Every block I turn to has one building being constructed.
Halfway to the hotel, it rained cats and dogs. Found a shelter in front of a massive hotel.
Selfie while waiting. This is my cool face.
After about 10 minutes the rain let up a tiny bit. So I bolted like Usain. Guess I wasn't fast enough because I got to the hotel drenched in rain and sweat.
Quickly showered and went down to have some breakfast buffet. They had a sticky rice with chicken today and that was yummmm. Decided to have seconds with spring rolls.
Oh my god that sticky rice and spring rolls was just so nice. A coriander would have added more balance to the dish. But hey, I am happy, so full right now.
Dropped off a friend to have his tattoo done and walked around the markets. Of course there are constructions happening.
I guess the nets' purpose is to break their fall. Because, it's safety first.
The locals at work.
On the way to work.
These guys were unloading goods from the truck but were interrupted by cops. The truck quicly bolted with its back door wide open.
Friends casually talking on the road.
While these cops issued a ticket to someone in that white car.
Pretty much did nothing but shop, not my thing, but it's raining and gloomy. Crappy day. It is 12:20 PM, goodnight!
I am so bored sitting in the hotel room. Went up to the roof to see the gloomy weather.
I think my body is getting used to having late meals. Having lunch at 2PM and dinner at 9PM. Went to this place for lunch, Thien Ly.
There is no aircon, a bit of a smell but damn the Ban Xeo is delicious. Ban Xeo is a pancake. It was crispy and had enough meat.
The vegetables and rice paper are for wrapping the pancake. Dip it in the fish sauce and boom! You just died and gone to foodie heaven. Crispy pancake, crispy prawns, fresh vegetables, tasty, tasty, tasty. Half deep fried and fatty, the balance is right. Mmmmmm schmakin' lipping good.
The size of the Ban Xeo is twice the size of a Samsung S6 and some.
Finished dinner then heard the noise of drums and clash of metals. I hurried to take a look and there was a dragon dance performance in front of kiddies.
After the performance, the performers took photos with the kids. They then got picked up by a van to their next venue.
Remember how there are lots of constructions. Well here's another one and the safety first motto has been thrown out the window.
Our friend finally had his tat done after more than the ETA. Looks good and freaking cheap. This would have cost more thank 5k in Sydney. He only paid 1.5k.
Let's end the night poolside.
Next city, Khoi noi or something, cannot remember. I will see you guys tomorrow.
What happened to that guy on the beach being spastic. Was he tourist or local
