Mjøsa
Mjøsa is Norway's largest lake, on the border between Hedmark, Oppland and Akershus counties. Mjøsa is located in an old valley, possibly in a geological weakness zone. The valley has been dug out of the ice through several ice ages to a fjord with a threshold at Minnesund. The main addition is Gudbrandsdalslågen; the drainage of Vorma connects Mjøsa with Glomma.
Mjøsa is rich in fish, especially vendace, common whitefish, trout, perch and pike, and others. The fishing after vendace have long traditions, but the interest in this fishery is less than before. However, the fishing after Mjøsa's big trout is growing. The trout sprouts in several of Mjøsa's side rivers and grows in Mjøsa.
All pictures are taken from the west of the lake in a park near Kapp, lovely place with beach and bathing possibilities.

Live bait is not legal in this country and should not be legal in any other place either! I know the consequences and the destruction it can have when a bait fish escapes into the lake.
You should never introduce a fish into a lake unless its of the same kind as the once that are already there!

you shouldnt! like in the lake next to my town the germans used live bait under 2nd world war, we still struggle with this garbage fish, the fish eats the small trouts and destroys plants. its been over 70years and we cant get rid of this shit fish...

You captured so beautiful sunset over nice calm water. You might be enjoying fishing, like my husband the most enjoyable to be on the nature and have silence around you, so that you can listen to the sound of nature and it is not only get fish out something :)
