Paphos is next tourist attractive city on the southwest coast of the Mediterranean of Cyprus. Inhabited since Neolithic times, it has several sites relating to the cult of goddess Aphrodite, whose mythical birthplace was at Old Paphos (Kouklia). It has so much place to visit in history The villas within the archaeological park have mosaics depicting scenes from Greek mythology. Burial chambers at the Tomb of the Kings date to the 4th century B.C. Nearby, Agia Solomoni Church has catacombs and 12th-century frescoes. Once a Byzantine fort, Paphos Castle guards the town’s harbor. Agia Paraskevi is a 5-domed Byzantine church in Yeroskipou. Paphos’ resort district, Kato, has sand and shingle beaches, and there are further resorts along the coast. At Old Paphos, Aphrodite’s Rock is a sea stack where, reputedly, the goddess emerged from the sea.
