Yes, shameless plug for my annual BBQ, which is this coming Saturday. We are expecting more than 100 people again from many countries.

The Scarlet Sails is one of my most cherished traditions here. It's beautiful, the atmosphere is very electric, and the fireworks show is one of the largest I've ever seen.

Education is HUGE here! Not that it isn't in other places, but the importance placed on it by the public and government is extremely noticeable. The system isn't without significant flaws, but it is central to the family mindset for most people.
