Panama Trump International Hotel & Towers Aggressively Taken Over and Rebranded
For the better part of last month I was staying at the Trump Towers in Panama City, Panama. It was a great place to live for a month but I wasn't too proud of the fact that President Trump's name was on the building. Low and behold the day I left his name was ripped off the building with a crowbar!
While I was there there was lots of talk that this was going to happen and the last week and a half I was there I saw lots of reporters and police outside the front of the building. It was apparently a pretty aggressive takeover between the minority stakeholder, Mr. Fintiklis, and the Trump foundation.
"This was purely a commercial dispute that just spun out of control," Fintiklis said after he took possession of the hotel's offices. "And today, this dispute has been settled by the authorities and the judges of this country."
Fintiklis was so happy he said he intended to apply for Panamanian citizenship.
I would probably be just as happy.
