IF YOUR VISITING CROATIA THIS YEAR, HERE IS A VILLAGE YOU WILL DEFINITELY WANT TO SEE
So after visiting Plitvice national park, me and the family decided to find some cheap accommodation and spend the night. We came across the village of Rastoke (rust-or-care is how it's pronounced) about 20 minutes away
and found a lovely room for less than $50 a night.
The view from the room:
The view from the side of the house:
and the back of the house.
Behind the house there are a couple of private islands connected by bridges where you can have a barbeque or even a swim if you don't mind the cold water, the village is actually located on the junction where two rivers meet.
We then took a stroll around the beautiful village, just breathing the fragrant air was an unforgettable experience.
We then went to lovely restaurant with incredible views on all sides
A good selection of food but i had to try the choice dried meats which included Wild boar, deer and the dark meat was bear!
An amazing place to visit, the kind of place a writer or composer might want to spend a month in.
For nature lovers or mushroom pickers, it would be hard to think of a better place.
