Our travel to Lithuania. City of Šventoji #1
The journey started from Belarus. Actually where we live. And it lasted 10 hours or 750 km to the town of Šventoji on the shore of the Baltic Sea.
We stopped here in this house pre-booked through the internet. Very cozy and 5 minutes from the sea.
Naturally after the arrival, we immediately went to the sea.) To our delight it was 300 meters from the house.
We arrived at the end of May in this was a bit cool. But we are not stopped.
The next day, it suddenly became very warm and we naturally went again to the sea. It's still cold to swim, because the Baltic Sea itself is cold. But to our surprise there were brave Lithuanians who bathed.)
Of course, we did not restrain ourselves and we decided to run bare feet with our feet. The sea was icy. And how did they even bathe ?!))
The sand on the beach was so small and soft as if you were walking on flour.
We walked for a long time. We walked along the beach 2-3 kilometers and came across an interesting monument.
As it turned out, this symbol of Sventoji is a sculptural composition "Daughters of a Fisherman". Girls, looking at the sea in anticipation of the return of his father, was created in 1982 by sculptor Zuzanna Pranaityte.
After walking a few hours along the beach we went out back to the city and came across a very beautiful and high temple. The Catholic church, resembles the nose of a huge ship and is called the Church of the Sea Star.
The town of Sventoji is small and there are few monuments there. This town is mainly for tourists. There are a lot of rented houses here. But 12 kilometers away is Palanga. About him and will be my next blog entry.
Soon...
What a beautiful place so close to the sea, quite a drive but so well worth it
Thanks for sharing your adventure
