Travel Diary: Vermont
Do you ever think about how big the world is? How many stories there are to tell? My dream is to be a travel blogger. I want to travel the world and tell its stories. So I'll start here, with one of my favorite travel destinations. Vermont.
The vibes
Burlington Vermont has a very hipstery feel to it. It is very close to a college, which means it attracts a lot of young people. The city has a lot of independent businesses and retro type stores that sold comic books and records. But the people there came off as super friendly and open minded! That is coming from a very preppy, traditional person. I would see it felt like a Starbucks. Busy and modern, but welcoming.
Places to go
We stayed at the top notch resort which is a few miles from the city. We could not have been happier! It was gorgeous and the customer service was phenomenal. For food, a crepe restaurant called the skinny pancake is a must. The food was piping hot and freshly made, before the entree (a pizza crepe) and desert (chocolate crepe) were divine. For leisure touring the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory was adorable, and fun for all ages! There's tons of shopping if you just walk around the city. The Van Trapp lodge is also in the area, where you can tour the home from the sound of music movie!
People to see
Champy is a sea monster who is rumored lives in lake champlain. You can take a boat out on the lake and try to find him! Ben and Jerry are to amazing entrepreneurs behind an international ice cream brand. You can take a tour to learn all about who they are and how they make their ice cream. Trust me, the tour is very sweet!
Overall
I really recommend Vermont. I truly believe it has something for everyone. If you're younger and more interested in the city and shopping, head to Burlington Vermont. But older people, are nature/history buffs will find more enjoyment in Stow and Lake Champlain.
All the best
