Islands in Thailand that you might not know

in #travel7 years ago

Thailand has almost 1500 islands, so we searched and scribbled a list of those you could not even hear.

When it comes to Thailand, most people first attack the islands of Phuket, Krabi, Koh Phi Phi and Koh Samui. The unobstructed are beautiful places, but during the season, they are crowded with tourists. If your idea of exotic holiday is different than sunbathing on a crowded beach, good news! Thailand has hundreds of other islands in addition to popular tourist destinations, where you can easily find yourself alone in a bit of luck.

Koh Nang Yuan ↓

The little island is connected with the surrounding islands by a narrow strip of sand and usually hits tourists from the more famous Koh Tao. Interestingly, the island is struggling hard against the plastics with which the Southeast Asian countries have a big problem. The jars are served in a glass that can be reused.
Perhaps it sounds like a crazy idea, but despite the heat it is worthwhile to climb to the top of the hill and look out over the surrounding islands.

Moo Ko Surin National Park ↓

You will experience the real wilderness in a national park that spans five tiny islands. Discover hidden Robinson Crusoe and sleep in tents, electricity only until 22:00, rainforest with wild birds, monkeys, lizards, abandoned beaches surrounded by coral reefs, where sea turtles and fresh seafood are often held for dinner. You will remember this for a long time.

Koh Mak ↓

The island is untouched by mass tourism, so you can expect peace and undisturbed relaxation throughout the year. Near the island is a coral reef where you can dove. At the cooking school, you can learn Thai specialties and bake friends at home in Slovakia. A great experience is also a night fishing.

Koh Kut ↓

The island is located near the aforementioned Koh Mak. Here you will come to your lovers of nature. The mountainous terrain is great for strolling and discovering the waterfalls hidden in the woods. You can make your holiday special if you are staying in one of the guesthouses with pets who love fishing. Self-captured evening is the best!

Koh Lipe ↓

The popularity of Koh Lipe is growing especially among scuba divers who are looking for close colorful coral reefs. The island is also known for its beautiful white sandy beaches. From Koh Lipe you can get to the side of Koh Adang, head out to the top of the hill and enjoy the beautiful view. I did here my PADI diving licence and this island is amazing part of this earth.

Koh Yao archipelago ↓

The Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai islands lie close to the famous Phuket, but mass tourism is, fortunately, bypassing them. The inhabitants of the smaller Ko Yao Noi are not used to tourists, so they will continue their activities without interruption in your presence. The island is tiny, so it's usually riding a bicycle here. To travel to Koh Yao Yai you need a motorbike.
On both islands, you can find different standards of accommodation, but when you are out of the resort, it is not advisable to wear bikinis with respect to the home. The reward will give you the authenticity and the opportunity to look into the everyday life of the local population.

Koh Kradan ↓

Once you get here, your ladder of the most beautiful beaches is probably mixed up. Such white sand is not visible anywhere. 90% of the island is a protected national park and, being far from civilization, you feel like you've just discovered it. If the beach is frosty, snorkeling or diving can be done nearby.

Koh Sukorn ↓

A small island that can be crossed by bicycles is home to farmers and fishermen. Even during the tourist season, it is almost empty, with only a few adventure backpackers hanging out.

Koh Phangan ↓

If you are looking for a relaxation, the only term when the island is recommended to avoid is the Full Moon party. Otherwise, the tranquil island turns into one big disco with over 30,000 people. For the rest of the month, it is the ideal place to relax, where you can not even stand your feet off the main season.
