American Cemetery Normandy
Hello fellow steemians, this is my visit to the American Cemetery in Colle ville su mer.
It started with rain and storming, so it was not a great day for photography, it was sheltering under trees😕 but i still hope to give you a clear picture and why you should visit.
In Colle ville su mer, you can find the American Cemetery and the monument of the american soldiers who were shot during the battle of Normandy.
It is impressive when you are standing there and thinking that nearly 9500 soldiers are layin under the ground. And *fight for our freedom.
There are also 1,557 Americans who lost there lives during the fight who could not be located or identified.
For them is a huge monument of a semicircle.
On the other side of the semicircle you can find there names. Some are marked with a star, they where found.
From the cemetery you can see Omaha beach where they have fought. Until today this piece of land is still loan from the American government.
It is also provided by the American monuments commission.
Now these days is a quiet environment that also bring some peace.
Thnx about watching my post, next post will be Le Mont saint michel.
