Borobudur Temple, Central Java
Hi Steemians
This is the Borobudur Temple. It is a Buddhist temple in Central Java about 1 hour drive from our hotel in Jogjakarat. It was built more than 1000 years ago like the Prambanan temple, but instead of many small temples, this one is one giant temple
People going up the temple
Midway to the top you can go around
At the top of the temple
There is a Buddha statue in each of the small round structure. You can put your hand inside to try to touch the Buddha and it would be good luck
The Borobudur temple from the side
You can get a ride for around 2 dollar each person from the entrance to the temple, to only realize the temple is a short walk to the left and the ride goes to the right and takes the long way to the temple. On the way back though it was worth it as the exit is on the other side of the entry
There are shops selling traditional clothes and souvenirs at the entrance and exit
Could be quite hot if you visit in noon time, wearing hat or bringing an umbrella is recommended
Wow, that is a huge temple. Not very pretty looking and it looks like you could get lost in it very easily.....

thank you edkarnie, the place is huge, luckily there are many signs to help us get around
Hi @edkarnie ,I agree with you, I have seen better and more beautiful places, I am not superstitious either, when you do this, you limit yourself, luck we all have it, it is enough to always have enough positive attitude, and to have faith in a supreme GOD, it is my humble opinion .
Blessings
looks massive ! this is on the bucket list for sure
thank you bitcoinman, it was once part of the 7 wonder of the world

That looks amazing. Was there any inside parts or was that the entire thing? Seems like a tremendous use of space for something so decorative LOL
thank you hotsauceislethal, not sure if there is something inside, there should be a hidden path but tourists are only allowed on the stairs and outer part of the temple
