I am so sorry to hear about John. But you were lucky to meet him and have some nice time with him. I am sure now he is in a better place and smiles much more often :)

I think it's quite normal that you don't get sick when you drive. I'm the same and I also prefer to drive as then I don't get sick. I believe it has something to do with how you focus your eyes on the road while you drive.. but not sure..

That cave is stunning! I love those light worms.. on the other hand I find it a bit scary knowing that those beautiful lights are worms :)
