Only Good Vibes: Trip to Potipot Island
I rarely travel but I would love to go on endless trip around the world. There are just limitations because of money, time, and motion sickness. The last one can be managed though. :)
Last 2016, some of the people in my workplace planned to go on an overnight stay at the Potipot Island in Zambales. We only paid 600 pesos each (around 12 USD) for the food, entrance fee, and boat transportation. The van which we used from Quezon City to Zambales was sponsored and that's thanks to ma'am Lina and Kath!
There are different variations of food which were just enough for two days and one night. There were adobo, grilled marinated pork, grilled fish, ensalada, hotdog, scrambled egg, and many more. I stuffed myself well during the stay.
Reaching the Island
I'm scared of large bodies of water because I don't know how to swim. But as I sat on the boat and attempting to feel the splash of water in my cold hands while looking at the clear skies and stars, I felt at peace. As the boat gets nearer the island, I couldn't help but admire the perfect shades of black, blue, violet, gray and green colors in the surroundings.
Upon arriving at the island at around midnight, we set up the tent where we'd be spending the night. This particular memory takes me back to my childhood days as a girl scout.
We ate a little and chat the night away. We and some of the girls decided to sleep due to exhaustion. Fortunately, we woke up just before the sun rises and damn, what a sight to see.
The sun peeks a little as we wait patiently.
Strolling Around Potipot
I helped in preparing and cooking the breakfast. After we ate, we strolled around the island. I was walking barefoot! Just beware of sharp stones and some ants and you'll be fine. The feeling of the sand hugging my feet is quite relaxing.
You can notice in my photos that I usually include my hands or feet because I didn't have a selfie stick and my phone's front cam's quality is no good. Back then, I was using Cherry Mobile S4 and just recently I switched to Huawei Nova 2i (not paid sponsorship).
Beach Dipping
No, I didn't swim nor did I wear a bikini. I just sat there admiring the people having fun in the waters. I went near the sea until the water's on my knee level. Hehe. That scared. But don't get me wrong, it's actually fun! I enjoyed every moment of it. I go back and forth to take pictures with my eyes and sometimes with my phone.
Fun fact: The mobile signal is strong in the island

Nice place... Relaxing... Good photography! I came once in ZAMBALES year 2013 if I am not mistaken? Sunnyday that day and a quiet place. I don't know now if it's the same... (^_^) Next time, take a shot of video... (^ _ ^)
Thankss! :)
I will take a video next time. Yes, it's relaxing there. I also don't know if it's the same as before. Anyhow, Zambales has many beautiful islands to explore.
