Is that the Mitsubishi Express? I had that car for almost two years.
I skipped Kangaroo Island due to shitty weather and the cost for the ferry... And we were in rush, just wanted to get through the Nullabor plain.

It's the Mitsubishi star wagon ! The van didn't go faster than 100km/h but the seats were sooooo comfy !!
Yeah you made the right choice, I don't think that Kangaroo island with a bad weather is really worth it.

^^ I know... mine wouldn't do more than 70km/h. At least not during super hot days. It ran on LPG and would constantly over-heat when going faster than 70/80.... WA in Summer. we travelled super slowly!
