Hello fellow steemians,

I am currently running week #7 of my 7 World's Continents Photo Challenge which is gaining popularity and attracting steemians with some serious photo skills. By participating in the challenge they not only get decent upvotes from me and the chance to accumulate the total of 150 SBD for the winner of the yearly challenge but also little extra exposure here on steemit that might bring some traffic to their blogs. All this wouldn't be possible without all of you here on Steemit so my huge thank you goes to each and every one of you!

Below is just a preview of some top images of the past few weeks that many of you will be famialiar with. For the ones that are seeing this for the first time this might be a good opportunity for you to get aquinted with the challenge and hopefully participate at some point. Please enjoy and have a great Saturday!

This summer I traveled through Thailand. At the end of my journey I visited the nationalpark Khao sok. It consists mainly of a huge artificial lake which was made 40 years ago. This shot was in the calm of the rising morning mist with the dead trees from 40 years ago poking through the surface of the calm water.

This is a shot taken at Vava'u in the Kingdom of Tonga where humpback whales migrate as far as 5000kms each year from Antarctica to give birth to these wonderful new borns in the warm waters of the Pacific. Once hunted to the brink of extinction for their oil and meat, every new born calf is a reason to celebrate as their numbers are slowly restored. 😊

I was hiking solo for 2 days. On the second day the trail was much harder than I thought. To get to the last summit I had to climb a very steep wall of gravel and stones. Eventhough I go rockclimbing and therefore am not scared of heights this was scary! The 10kg backpack was always pulling me backwards. In the end I crawled up. As soon as I reached the top I saw this breathtaking scenery!

Crazy Horseshoe Bend - My wife, @tabealouise, visited this spot in 2006. No people, no trail, pure wilderness. Today, May 2016, a huge parking lot, buses full of tourists and a perfectly paved trail. Too bad but that's the way it is. Still a fantastic view and crazy tourists taking selfies on the edge of the cliff 😂

This photo is the 2nd sunset of 2017. I was in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with a great group of friends and we chartered a boat for a sunset cruise on Jan 2nd. It really was the perfect way to end our New Years trip together.

Rara lake, situated at Mugu distrist is the biggest and deepest natural fresh water lake of himayalas country Nepal. Since Rara lake lies at the altitude of 9,810 ft above sea level winter is very cold here with regular snowfall. But still the beauty beats everything after you reach here.

Cordillera Mountain Ranges

This photo was taken at highest peak of Mount Pulag which is the second highest mountain peak in the Philippines. We had to hike for 3 hours before getting to the campground and we had to take another 2 hours hike from the campground to the peak. It was raining throughout our hike so it wasn't pleasant as we wanted it to be but in the end, it was worth to see the beautiful sunset. We could see the Cordillera mountain ranges along with the golden clouds lying around the valleys.

This is Lake Peyo in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. It always makes for a great shot, the greenish blue of the water is a beautiful contrast to the surrounding mountains and landscape. I was lucky to come here twice, i highly recommend visiting this amazing part of our planet.

A beautiful sunrise one morning at my local beach, Curl Curl on Sydney's northern beaches. It still surprises me everyday as to how many people living in Sydney still have no idea where it is...

I took this shot during our helicopter ride in Hawaii. The weather was perfect so we took heaps of photos. It seems like the water colour in Hawaii is a bit different to what we have in Australia. It’s was such a great trip!

Inspired by all these epic landscape photos, here is a golden hour shot I took while running on a Stellenbosch Farm in South Africa. I am very privileged to basically have this beautiful route in my back yard.

Last year I travelled to Central America with a friend, in Guatemala we climbed a volcano hoping to see another volcano erupt. On our way there we saw the smoke of an eruption drifting away. We were pretty sad that we missed the eruption, but just a few minutes after we arrived at the viewpoint the volcano erupted again! I will never forget the enormous force of nature I witnessed that day.

This is my entry to North America Photography as you can guess where it is, Niagara Falls.. I took this picture from the ship that letting us pass by Niagara falls. It was like raining next to it. Because as you know that the water falling down from the top, it is going up with the speed power of water.

Enjoy this marvelous panorama view over the Bryce Canyon National Park (Utah, USA). The orange-redish colours of this canyon seem so surreal when you are down there. Its kind of like how imagine the Mars to be. But see for yourself.

I'd call this more of a suggestion/tip than a personal story. There's a great park (Fort Lee Historic Park) on the New Jersey side of the George Washington Bridge that gives a great vantage point looking towards NYC. If you go there, you can get a picture like this:

Hoover Dam. I remember back in my home town, we have a dam but it was small. Seeing this dam was up there on my list of amazing structures. I wonder how many people died making this.
