Prague among the most visited cities in the world: 7.65 million visitors in 2017!
Hi everyone!
Most of you know that I love promoting my beautiful homeland, the Czech Republic, and its spectacular capital city, the city of Prague.
With that said, I was really pleased to read in the news today that tourism keeps flourishing in Prague. Last year, the Czech metropolis was visited by whooping 7.65 million visitors (both domestic and international), more than ever before.

I was also happy to find out that a vast majority of those visits (6.55 million, to be precise) were made by tourists from other countries.
As for the percentage of visits by individual nations, the rank remains unchanged with most international tourists visiting Prague coming from Germany, United States, Great Britain, Italy and Russia. However, this rank might change soon as there is an increasing interest in Prague among tourists from China, South Korea, India, Taiwan and several other Asian countries.

Prague is a great base for all low-cost travelers who want to visit other European countries!

I actually found you through a travel friend in common. @joythewanderer. She is super nice. She's been traveling through Hong Kong and every time I see her Hong Kong posts it totally trips me out. As I lived there for a short while 5 years ago.
Truth is I've basically been living out of a backpack for about 11 years now and have been traveling more or less since I left Albany New York USA at the young age of 20, now I'm 35. So I've had a lot of travel experience most of which had to be done on a tight budget.
I've had to stay on a budget as little as 500 dollars a month to keep my travel lifestyle. Things are not so tight now. But I know how to get water out of stone if I have to when it comes to traveling! lol
After all the budget travel tricks and strategies I've learned over the year I now consider myself a budget travel professional; and I've got a nice little travel blog happening here on steemit about my style of travel, so far so good.
I just got back from a trip to the Galapagos and soon will be heading south to Peru hoping to make to Buenas Aires Argentina in a couple months. Then out to Europe for the summer.
Check Republic is high on my list and I'm definitely going to Prague, probably late summer early fall next year. While in Thailand a couple months ago I made some good friends from this city, so it's been high on my radar since then.
So glad to have run into you here on steemit. You are doing so well. I'm very happy for you. I see that you have your own travel company, awesome! I just stopped by your website, very nice. I love the entrepreneurial spirit! I've never had a boss myself since age 19. Built, owned, and sold several businesses and a big house over the years.
How long have you been doing the tour business for? Do you have a lot of travel experience yourself? This is actually my first time on social media, never did facebook. Just emails. So I always write long email like messages. However this is getting ridiculous. Sorry to take up your time. Just excited to meet a friend for Joy's and maybe we'll even meet in person this summer/fall.

Thanks for the post. We are going to be visiting Prague over the easter holidays. It truly looks like a beautiful pkace to visit. Are there any specific sites you reccomend visiting? I like to explore the less 'touristy' attractions. Also what can we expect their over easter?
I would suggest following my daily photo sharing challenge where other Steemians post their picture from Prague and other locations around the country giving a description of the place or their experience... You will definitely find a lot of inspiration from those post... Also, make sure to take some good pics while there so you can participate after your return. Tomas

I live in Prague for more than 10 years and it seems to me that every year less tourists are coming to Prague. A lot of places being cool once are now vanished and lead by strange managers who do not realize the specific. A lot of my friends from travel industry are out of the business now. So the statistic looks strange to me, but I hope to be wrong.
Wow, I am really surprised by your comments since the number of tourists has been on the rise year after year. Even though I do not reside in Prague I do come here fairly frequently and I have not noticed that it would be lacking the tourists....
